James, sometimes obsessing on a thought is simply a looping prison for the brain. Examine what you are thinking about. Are you thinking to resolve a problem or just replaying the same thought again and again? I would call that worrying. Instead, take command of your thoughts. I channel them to some enjoyable event or memory I prize and engage in reliving some aspect of it mentally. Before I know it I am asleep. It can be a struggle sometimes but it works for me.

Latest JW.org Statistics Are Confusing & Lack Context
by steve2 inearlier this week a new post on this forum announced that the 2017 worldwide annual service report was available on jw.org.
wow - that's earlier than the statistics for the 2016 service year which appeared in the 2017 yearbook last january!
good effort, jw organization!

Is it just me or are the street sign, road, car verification excessive?

i seriously try harder and harder, i don't know if we include the tiny little piece of sign or not.

Even though I am long faded and not at all sympathetic to the doctrines, there is an ingrained weirdness when I see little children born in the 2000's. They weren't supposed to be born. I am settled with the reality, it just seems so antithetic to my belief of many years. So glad the children have been born and I was wrong.

Inside Story Logo
by MrHappy inthis may have been covered before but have you noticed the logo design of the "inside story" on this months video the 143rd gilead graduation.
it appears as a pyramid containing the masonic symbol of the compass and square, with this reflected below the text.
the art pieces on the shelf are also interesting and maybe someone has some thoughts on these.

Do you or did you experience too much intrusion into your personal life by the elders in your congregation?
by UnshackleTheChains ini ask this question because i have personally experienced first hand the control and intrusion into my personal life by the elders at our hall; and for virtually trivial things or non issues!
what's more, i regularly hear of individuals moving to other halls because they were stumbled by the thought police....er, i mean these elders.. have you had any such experience?
have your elders been a bit ott over trivialities?.

There was an article about prayer. It said that using the name Jehovah in every sentence devalued the name, made it a lucky charm. After the meeting for service, I approached the MS who conducted the meeting and asked if he had read the article. Of course every second word was Jehovah. He went ballistic, accusing me of counseling him in front of his family.
The next meeting the PO (in those days) took me in the room and read me the riot act for reproving a MS when I was "nothing". I said, "I'm his brother and If I wish to bring something to his attention that keeps him from looking and sounding like an ass, I will. Give it a rest" and walked out of the little room. What a tool. That PO hated me so much. I was a threat to his little fiefdom.

What’s The Strangest Belief of Jehovah’s Witnesses?
by minimus inthere’s a lot.
i think one strange view is how only 144000 go to heaven.
since the number is mentioned in the symbolic book of revelation, you would expect that the number would be viewed as figurative, but jws say otherwise.

I've always thought it was the strange belief that the secret sin of one in the congregation can remove God's Spirit from all other members, regardless of their faithfulness or need for support in rough times. It's simply moronic.
Also the warning that we can stumble others, while at the same time they say those who left "were not of our kind."
I'm glad I'm off that trolley.

We are better than this guys. Stop smearing reputations because we were gullible enough to join the clown car of JW's.
